A lovely Colonial house built in the 1840s is the setting for this comfortable, tastefully furnished B&B. Set on lush grounds studded with mature trees, A Storybook Inn makes for a soothing getaway. A full breakfast is served daily, along with other refreshments, and meeting space, business services, and laundry facilities are available. Each guest room features a private bath, not to mention cable TV, DVD player, fireplace, Internet access, and lots of bath products. Great care is taken to maintain cleanliness and keep allergens at bay. Lexington proper is 10 miles away. 4 units, plus a separate cottage.

In its early days, this inn (built in 1845) was a school for girls. In 1917, it was converted into the Beaumont and is now being run by the fourth generation of the same family. Lovingly furnished in Victorian style, individual rooms include air-conditioning, cable TV, phone, and private bath. A full breakfast is served to guests, who also have use of an outdoor pool, tennis courts, and the inn's public areas. Lexington's airport is 35 miles away. Meeting space to accommodate 35. 33 rooms, including accommodations in other onsite cottages.

A one-time medical clinic, this historic property now offers period charm and character in spades. Individually decorated rooms include private bath, custom colors, original artwork, cable TV, fresh flowers, dataport, and free newspaper. Business services and complimentary parking are available as well. The wonderful Jonathan at Gratz Park restaurant is located onsite, and downtown Lexington is just moments away. 44 rooms, including 6 suites.

Although it's not what everyone would consider pampering, a sojourn at this quaint, simple village is eminently relaxing. Guests are housed in 19th-century buildings and surrounded by handmade items that recall the era. Air-conditioning, TV, phone, and private bath are standard. The nearby Village showcases craftspeople and restored buildings. A restaurant is available, as are shops. Nature trails invite guests to explore, and riverboat tours can be booked as well. 25 miles from the airport. Meeting space to accommodate 85. 81 rooms, including 6 suites.

A large, circa-1888 brick home fronted with an impressive, two-story portico, Lyndon House is a beautiful example of Victorian style. Tastefully furnished, the B&B offers guests a full daily breakfast and snack foods. An elevator and an original, lovely staircase offer access to upper floors. Individual rooms feature cable TV, individual climate control, private bath, and Internet access. Downtown's attractions are just a short walk away. 3 rooms; 2 suites.

Near Keeneland, this gracious home is part of a 15-acre local horse farm and is only a short drive from many of Lexington's attractions. The property offers three guest rooms in the main house and two suites in a separate building. Each of them features a private bath. Guests may take advantage of the home's public areas for leisure pursuits, and both interior and exterior venues are available. A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily.
